HI-San Francisco hostels would like to recognize and thank the many individuals who contributed artistic and intellectual talent to make SFHostels a resource for budget travelers.
A staff-led development team guided various stages of the project, from the vendor selection to final review and edits: Jeanne Comaskey, Director of San Francisco Operations and GM of Fisherman's Wharf hostel; Patrick Rafferty, GM of City Center hostel; Barbara Wein, Executive Director of Golden Gate Council; Curtis Danielson, Marketing and Communications Manager; and marketing assistant Amandyne Bruneaux.
Development and Engineering
SFHostels was built by Craig Sarachene of CSDesigns. His solution adopted clean, standardized code with well-defined style sheets to present users with a faster and livelier site and a streamlined booking process.
Rob Saunders, a strategic marketing consultant based in San Francisco, provided early development guidance and improved the usability of the site by improving the information architecture and navigation.
Arjen Kammeraad, City Center Front Desk Manager, is also a free-lance photographer. He contributed many of the interior and exterior images of our hostels as well as candid photographs of our guests. A big thank you goes out to the San Francisco Chronicle for providing many images for the City Guide section (images are designated by a copyright note). Many of the general San Francisco images (attractions, landmarks and other classics) are provided courtesy of the San Francisco Convention and Visitors Bureau. HI-San Francisco hostels are members of the SFCVB.
Artwork featured in the City Guide was adapted from original illustrations by San Francisco-based designer James V. Carroll.
