Discounted airport shuttle service to/from SFO

Discounted bike rentals

San Francisco is a great city for biking, and HI-San Francisco guests can score big discounts on bike rentals at three different companies -- just ask for your discount voucher at the front desk.

All three companies have multiple locations in the Fisherman's Wharf/North Beach area, and are within walking distance of the Fisherman's Wharf Hostel, as well as the north end of the Powell-Hyde cable car line. Guests staying at the Downtown Hostel or City Center Hostel can catch the cable car at the turn-around at Powell and O'Farrell streets (2 blocks from the Downtown Hostel and 8 blocks from the City Center Hostel).

Guests at the City Center Hostel or Downtown Hostel receive a discounted rate of $18-22/day (regularly $28-32/day) for city-ready mountain and hybrid bikes. Helmet, lock, rear rack, camera bag, bungie cord, and map included in cost of rental. Performance, tandem, and other specialty bikes are also available.

Half-price tickets at American Conservatory Theater 

One of San Francisco's most prominent stages, the American Conservatory Theater is now offering half-price "rush" tickets to San Francisco hostel guests and Hostelling International members. Rush tickets are last-minute tickets that become available two hours before showtime.

Simply go to the ACT box office up to two hours before the show starts, and buy your ticket at half-off the regular price, by showing your Hostelling International membership card or paid receipt from your current stay at one of our three San Francisco hostels. The price of your ticket will vary between $7.25 and $40, based on the day of the week and seating section you choose. Tickets must be paid for in cash, and are subject to availability.

ACT is located near Union Square, just one block from the San Francisco Downtown Hostel and six blocks from the San Francisco City Center Hostel.

$5 tickets to comedy shows at The Clubhouse

Guests staying at HI-San Francisco hostels receive a special $5 rate (regularly $15) for the San Francisco Comedy College's "Scantily Clad Comedy" show on Friday nights, and the "Naked Comedy!" show on Saturday nights.

To get the discount, just mention at the door that you're staying at an HI hostel. Shows start at 9 p.m. Audience members must be 18 or older; those 21 and older are welcome to BYOB.
