Call for Entries: One World Many Views Contest

Hostelling International promotes "a greater understanding of the world and its people through hostelling." But a mission statement is only words — how might you see it manifested in your own hostelling experience?

HI-USA’s 75th anniversary One World Many Views contest asks you to show the world, in video or photographic form, how intercultural understanding and global stewardship can be fostered through hostelling.

As a reward for your hard work and creative talent, HI-USA is offering some great prizes. Two grand prize winners receive free roundtrip airfare to Europe and a one-year HI-USA membership. Two second-place winners receive a two-night stay at any HI-USA hostel and a membership. Two third-place winners receive a Lonely Planet book and a membership.

The contest is open to all U.S. residents of legal adult age. The guidelines for submissions are open-ended — creativity is encouraged and is a key factor in deciding contest winners. Accepted genres for video are narrative, documentary, experimental, live action, or animation, and photographs may be as realistic or abstract as contestants see fit. Entrants may submit up to five photographs and three videos.

Entries will be judged by an honorary committee including Peter Greenberg. In the event of a tie, judges will compare submissions for originality — so push your creative limits!
