Our shared dorms have a maximum of 4 or 5 beds per room, and every room has a private, en suite bathroom.
We also have two types of private rooms:
Standard private rooms have either a double bed or 2 tiwn beds. There's a full, private bathroom in every room, as well as a writing desk, seating area, and in-room safe.
Premium private rooms have a double bed, a full, private bathroom (with both shower and bathtub), as well as a writing desk, seating area, in-room safe, and iPod dock. These rooms are more spacious than Standard Private Rooms, and are located on the top floor of the hostel with streetside views.
Our cafe, Ivy's Place, is our most popular gathering place. This atmospheric, former 1920s speakeasy serves as a dining room by day, and in the evenings transforms into its former self, serving beer, wine, and snacks. There are 4 additional lounge areas on the first floor and mezzanine, stocked with books and games.
Every morning, we dish up free continental breakfast, which can be supplemented with all-you-eat pancakes or eggs for $1. Our spacious, self-serve kitchen is fully equipped with professional-grade stoves and ovens, microwaves, coffeemakers, pots and pans, dishes, utensils, and ample refrigerator/freezer space.
We offer free, fast WiFi, as well as internet terminals for rent.
Activities and Tours
We know that travelers choose to stay in hostels not just to save money, but to meet other travelers! That's why we offer daily activities (walking tours, pub crawls, dinners, movies) where hostellers can mingle, explore the city, or get a local's advice. For more, see Hostel Activities.
We also partner with local tour operators to offer trips to Muir Woods, Wine Country, Yosemite, Monterey/Carmel, and more. See Day Trips.
